Telegram Crosses 500 Million Users, 25 Million in the Past Few Days

 

Telegram messaging service stated that it crossed the 500-million download mark globally and increased by 25 million new users over the past few days. It made progress during the debate over WhatsApp’s most recent security strategy update.

It’s just barely the beginning of 2021, and it seems like it will be a critical year for social applications. WhatsApp, the world’s most mainstream application, just declared changes to its privacy policy to expand Facebook’s forces to use user data. One of the world’s most dubious applications, Parler, was casually removed from the web this week. However, this is coming out as good news for rival chat application Telegram.

Telegram messaging service stated that it crossed the 500-million download mark globally and increased by 25 million new users over the past few days. It made progress during the debate over WhatsApp’s most recent security strategy update.

While Telegram didn’t show Indian client numbers, it said 38 per cent of the new clients are from Asia, trailed by Europe (27 per cent), Latin America (21 per cent), and MENA (the Middle East and North Africa at 8 per cent).

Telegram’s New Premium Feature

Durov had referenced the application’s new modification plans to introduce in the future. The programs included bringing premium paid versions for business clients while keeping all current Telegram features.

The app will introduce ads just for larger channels, keeping private chats and group advertisement free. Telegram had consistently been a developing application among a lot of contenders.

It’s open-source and full of feature nature has helped the application accumulate various users since 2013. As of late, the application got a push, with many new users rushing to it after the new WhatsApp privacy policy caused disarray in the tech world.

WhatsApp’s Clarification

Meanwhile, WhatsApp further explained its new privacy policy update with an FAQ page enumerating the changes. It stated that the client visits will remain end-to-end encrypted and that the progressions won’t affect the security of messages sent to companions or family.
