With this launch, Aviva is carving a differentiated niche for itself by focusing on digital-savvy customers, and providing them with a richer digital experience.

This unique platform is a way of enabling people to understand that as they earn and acquire assets, they need to ensure a smoother transition to pass on their possessions to their loved ones in a structured manner. This is where a Will comes in, and Aviva’s newly launched service allows customers to easily create a Will without any cost. The online user-friendly interface allows customers to complete this important task at their convenience anytime, anywhere.

Commenting on the announcement, Anjali Malhotra, Chief Customer, Marketing & Digital Officer said, “A Will is a sensitive topic in India. There exist a lot of misconceptions and apprehensions about making a Will as people often associate it with death and unfortunate circumstances. Also, many people put off writing a Will because they find it a costly and tedious affair.”

“Addressing this gap, we have launched this service for our customers online, free of cost, with the aim to encourage everyone to create their Will with ease. This ties in beautifully with our aim to increase financial literacy in India. We are confident that this service will help us further build on the trust that Aviva has been able to create in the minds of the customers,” she further added.

The Aviva Will format drafted by legal experts ensures that the customer’s Will withstands legal and personal scrutiny. After creating the Will, the customer can revisit the platform at his convenience, over the years, to update the Will and make necessary amendments if required, such as adding new assets in the portfolio, changing beneficiary names, etc.

The customer’s personal asset data remains completely secure at all times, as the portal doesn’t store any data. It is advisable for the customers to get the generated Will duly notarized, even though it may be noted that any written Will is better than no having Will document in place.
