Oriflame inaugurates new school building of Deepalaya
New Delhi: Oriflame India, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Swedish beauty brand always been dedicated to empowering the girl child through education. To this end, it has been supporting the education of many girl students at Deepalaya School, Gusbethi and extending this support it inaugurated the new building of Deepalaya comprising of six classrooms and the administrative block.
Oriflame India has been already sponsoring the education of over 7,000 girls from the school in last 12 years.
The company will be helping Deepalaya in constructing the three-storey building, covering 90000 sq. ft area, that will support in providing education to 3000 children from the underprivileged background. Sergei Kanashin, SVP and Head of South Asia & MD, Oriflame India, was present at the inauguration ceremony of the new building along with his wife and Oriflame team. He was delighted to reaffirm Oriflame’s commitment to make the world a better place for the children at the event.
Deepalaya School Catering to Village Clusters
Started in 1998, Deepalaya School is affiliated with the Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE), and till now was running classes from LKG to class IX at present. Located in one of the fringe districts of Haryana Gusbethi, it caters to village clusters of Kirori, Gusbethi, Pipaka, Patuka, and Bhutlaka. As illiteracy was rampant among the countless number of men, women, and children living in this area, the school has been igniting the light of knowledge for around 20 years now.
Speaking at the event, Sergei Kanashin, SVP and Head of South Asia & MD India, said, “We have been associated with Deepalaya since 2006, supporting their Girl Child development projects. This event has turned out to be an exciting experience for us. It will be a dream comes true for many students from the nearby villages, who will now get access to the best quality education. We at Oriflame are always looking forward to contributing to such initiatives and are thrilled that our collective efforts have found fruition at Deepalaya.”
Talking about the event, A.J. Philip, Secretary & Chief Executive, Deepalaya said, “We are deeply humbled to have a global brand like Oriflame be associated with Deepalaya. The company has been passionately supporting our school for many years. The school had seen a notable decrease in the drop-out and absentee rates in the recent past. Oriflame’s constant support and generous contributions have led to fulfil dreams of many children. They had donated 2 buses to Deepalaya School earlier to support the cause of convenience and accessibility to education. We are extremely grateful to Oriflame for giving wings to our children’s dreams with their supporting in setting up new infrastructure.”
