KFC’s founder Colonel Sanders visits India; introduces chicken lovers to ‘KFC Land’

New Delhi: Founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), Colonel Sanders finally visited in India and also took out time to meet a few lusty chicken lovers in the city on Thursday. He was also seen exploring the city during the day and was spotted at India Gate by fans who also clicked selfies with the legend.

KFC India recently opened the gates to KFC Land taking fans across the country by a storm. The brand hosted a celebratory evening in honor of Colonel’s visit to India and to give consumers an exclusive experience of KFC Land – the land of the tastiest chicken in the world!

Bringing alive nuances of the Land, the evening saw Colonel meeting excited KFC fans, select consumers and his special Crew; enjoying finger lickin’ good food and sharing commandments of the Land; ending the evening on a celebratory high by declaring 6th July as National Fried Chicken Day.

Sharing his excitement on KFC Land and bringing Colonel Sanders to India, Moksh Chopra, Director Marketing, KFC India said, “What makes KFC stand out is our finger lickin’ good food; nobody makes chicken like we do. With KFC Land, we wanted to ensure our communication was as unique as our food. Isn’t it fascinating to imagine a land full of chicken-lovers that is united by its citizens’ love for chicken? That’s what KFC Land is – our new advertising platform to communicate the KFC Brand story in an interesting, distinct way. Over the months ahead, you’re going to hear about our new launches, activations, offers and all other brand initiatives through this platform. And of course, we kickstart this by introducing chicken lovers in India to our founder, Colonel Sanders. And that’s really what today is all about.”

Colonel handpicked a few to be a part of his exclusive India “Crew”. The lucky few included popular celebrities like Bollywood actor Shikha Talsania of Veere Di Wedding fame, Internet sensation Sumeet Vyas, Reality show star Prince Narula and South Indian model & actor Raiza Wilson. Colonel’s Crew was seen sharing their excitement around his maiden visit to India a few days ago on their social media platforms.

Within the first few seconds, the film grabs viewers’ attention as they drool over the Colonel biting into a piece of crispy juicy chicken. Viewers will also get a glimpse of the closely guarded vault that possibly hides KFC’s biggest secret – Colonel’s Original Recipe.

We are sure this campaign will garner a huge fan following for KFC’s beloved Colonel Sanders and this exciting world of KFC Land.”

Theatre actor Denzil Smith, the man behind the iconic white beard and suit plays the first Indian Colonel and the proud President of KFC Land. He seamlessly plays the part, bringing alive the persona of the beloved Colonel.
