Vasundhara Branch of SBI Not Operating Due to Shortage of Staff
Ghaziabad: Despite a lot of reforms in the banking systems, it seems that the banks are not able to provide satisfactory services to their customers. Today the Vasundhara branch of State Bank of India (SBI) is not operating on the backdrop of shortage of staff.
Customers at the Vasundhara branch of SBI are waiting from more than an hour to deposit cash, get the bank statement and for other services. People coming to open a new account are also being told to come after 10 days as there is no staff to open the account.
Neeraj Bhatnagar, an employee with Patanjali and existing customer of the bank is waiting from last more than one hour to deposit money in his account. He told DWE, “I was not able to find my passbook at my home so I had come to the branch to get the bank statement. The employee of the bank asked me to deposit Rs. 177 in my account to get the statement and since last more than one hour I am standing but the bank employees told me to wait because there is the shortage of staff.”
“A person also came to open a new account but he was told to come after 10 days. The bank employee gave him the same reason. One of the staff even told a customer who came to deposit a cheque that it will take at least 10 days to get the cheque cleared because there is shortage of staff. The Branch Manager is not on her seat and there is the long queue of people waiting for their turn,” he further added.
This is not the first time such complaints have come from the Public Sector Banks (PSBs). Often customers complaint about such things and hardly any action is been taken on this. Notably, the Branch Managers also don’t take any responsibility.
Despite all the necessary steps taken to reform the banking system the irregularities in the system still exist. It is really important for the government to take care of this because already customers are been charged for almost all the services and if still, they don’t get the proper services then it becomes really a bad situation for them.
