Swiggy Launches New Service in Seven Cities in India
New Delhi: Swiggy launched its latest service – Swiggy POP across seven cities in India. First launched in Bangalore late last year, Swiggy POP is tailored for India’s millennial professionals, and offers consumers a curated menu of single-serve meals from popular restaurants in the neighbourhood. POP is currently present in Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Pune, with Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata being the latest additions.
The daily changing Swiggy POP menu is based on key insights on customer demand, trends and preferences, and curated from a selection of over 20,000 items especially created for POP in collaboration with restaurant partners. This includes items like Indian thalis, bowl meals, Biryanis, Burgers and Asian combos. The POP meal is single-serve and conveniently sized, helping consumers avoid over-ordering in the range of INR 99 – 200. Extending its value on affordability, the price of the meal on the menu is what consumers pay during checkout, including zero delivery charges.
With a variety of national and local favourites on the platform, Swiggy has already tied up with the likes of Hotel Sarvana Bhavan (Chennai), Paradise Biriyani (Hyderabad), Rolls Mania (Pune), Dum Matka (Mumbai), Pista House (Hyderabad) and A2B Veg (Chennai) as well as national chains Subway, Rajdhani, Burger King and Taco Bell amongst others.
“At Swiggy, we are constantly looking for new ways to delight our consumers. POP was conceptualized keeping in mind the time-pressed working professionals who do not have access to a kitchen and need a hassle-free and foolproof fix to their daily meals,” said Anuj Rathi- VP, Product, Swiggy. “We not only use Swiggy insights to curate the most preferred meals in the neighbourhood but have also simplified the ordering process on the app, cutting the time it takes to place a POP order by half.”
Kapil Grover, Chief Marketing Officer – Burger King India said, “Consumers today want to place orders from their favourite brands in as less time as possible. POP is a great initiative led by Swiggy to serve this need and Burger King has seen great traction by offering pre-set curated meals to our guests.”
“POP is the best product for a single-user customer looking for quick and affordable meal,” remarked Aji Nair, COO, Rajdhani.
