How to register for the Covid-19 vaccine in India?
India is to start a vaccination drive soon across the nation with the newly developed Coronavirus vaccine. The process of documenting people who have been vaccinated will take place on the website called COVID Vaccine Intelligence Network (Co-WIN).
India is to start a vaccination drive soon across the nation with the newly developed Coronavirus vaccine. The authorities on Sunday approved the use of two vaccines to fight against the spread of the virus. The two vaccines are called Covishield and Covaxin and were formulated by Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech.
The government had begun with a dry run in many states, which will now extend to a whole chunk of the national population. The vaccination drive will take place in phases according to priority groups. The beneficiaries that will be receiving the vaccine in the first phase are being enlisted as of now so that the execution can occur at the earliest.
Following the National Expert Group’s guidelines on Vaccine Administration for Covid-19 (NEGVAC), frontline workers, healthcare experts, and citizens above 50 years of age will constitute the beneficiary group in the 1st phase.
How to register
At the vaccination site, only pre-registered people will be vaccinated. The process of documenting people who have been vaccinated will take place on the website called COVID Vaccine Intelligence Network (Co-WIN). It is a digital platform specially made for this purpose. There is no system in place for on-spot registration, making online registration necessary for all healthcare workers who do not require any prior process.
On the website, one can easily self register themselves through a simple process on the website. On the website, documents for photo-identification such as Adhaar, drivers’ license, passport, pension document, Voter ID, PAN card, MNREGA Job Card, etc., will be required. After the registration is finished on the website, the user will get an SMS confirming it along with the location, time, date, etc., of the vaccination.
